Question for secular/atheist alcoholics: How did you quit drinking without AA?

I'm an atheist alcoholic so I don't want to get help from AA or any other similar recovery group because of the religous affiliation and one of their first steps towards staying sober is accepting that God exists. Have any other secular people here been an alcoholic and somehow were able to quit drinking? How did you do it? Thanks for any help/advice.
