My advent t2310 is crashing everytime i try and install mint, help?

every time i attempt to install linux on my advent T2310(with a 1.63GHz dual core processor and 2GB ram vista is already installed) basically when i boot it, the mint logo appears and says auto-boot in 10 then counts down. it then crashes. Does anyone have any advice?
