Elevation Maps of the World?

I'm looking for some form of elevation maps (like a heightmap or something I can generate 3D coordinates from) for a project from various climates and landscapes. They don't need to absolutely perfect, but preferably within about fifty feet on accuracy. I'm doing a bit of statistical ysis to see if I can build some mathematical models from the data.
